Excellent! Is what I uttered when I got up after watching Madhur Bhandarkar’s latest project – Corporate. Madhur Bhandarkar known for his thorough study of topics proves his forte again in this film. The movie is perfectly deeply research, minutely well worked and superbly presented. I don’t say this because Bhandarkar is among my favorite filmmakers but the movie is really commendable.
The movie cruises through the entire boardroom to bedroom focal points that are required for the corporate world to hit their bottom line i.e. earn profit. Surely the movie presents how things are and can be manipulated if you want to stay ahead in the game. It showcases the symbiotic relationship between politics and business. Corporate at certain instances gives you an essence of the Coke-Pepsi rivalry. Emotional sabotage, blind faith, insider news and flesh can be tactfully used if a business wants to sustain in the corporate world. However, the movie is completely not about negativity and manipulations. At some points the movie tries to bring out strong ethics, principles and emotional values.
Movie missed Atul Kulkarni (a should be in Bhandarkar flicks). However, he made his brisk presence through his voice used for narration. Kulkarni could have been accommodated in some politician’s role if not as a business tycoon. Bipasha made a strong presence with her performance followed by KK and Rajat Kapoor. A duo team of office assistants & bodyguards do tickle your funny bones with their interpretations & understanding of corporate terms.

A must watch assignment from Madhur Bhandarkar as always. And I am sure Signal and Chandni Bar – II would also be scrupulously researched projects. This one time assistant of RGV (Ramu) and a maker of his first independent attempt, ultra flop Trishakti (starring Arshad Warsi, Sharad Kapoor, Milind Gunaji) would soon surpass the caliber of RGV. Cheers.
